Why This Camera
The X3 excels at capturing perspectives that are impossible with traditional cameras. The 360-degree capture means you never miss the action — you point the camera in any direction and choose the best angles later in the Insta360 app .
5.7K 360 Video & 72MP 360 Photos
The dual 1/2″ 48MP sensors capture 5.7K 360 video and 72MP 360 photos with improved detail and low-light performance compared to previous models .
Invisible Selfie Stick Effect (2M Selfie Stick Included)
When using a selfie stick with the X3, the stick disappears automatically from your footage, creating a drone-like third-person perspective . This is one of the X3’s most popular features — perfect for action sports, travel vlogs, and creative shots. The included 2M selfie stick gives you extended reach for aerial and low-angle shots.
FlowState Stabilization + 360° Horizon Lock
The X3’s stabilization is exceptional. FlowState technology keeps your footage smooth even on bumpy trails, while 360° Horizon Lock ensures the horizon stays level even when the camera flips or rotates completely .
Single-Lens Mode (4K Action Camera Mode)
The X3 doubles as a traditional action camera. Switch to single-lens mode and shoot 4K wide-angle footage at 30fps, or 170° MaxView at 2.7K . This makes the X3 a true two-in-one camera — 360 and action cam in one body.
Me Mode
Fixed-frame mode that tracks only you while keeping the selfie stick invisible. Perfect for solo creators filming themselves at 60fps for slow-motion effects .
Pre-Recording
Never miss a moment. The X3 can save 15 or 30 seconds of footage before you even press the shutter button — essential for unpredictable action shots .
IPX8 Waterproof to 10m
Take the X3 underwater without an external case — it’s waterproof to 10 meters (33 feet) straight out of the box . For deeper dives, a dive case is available (sold separately).
AI-Powered Insta360 App
The Insta360 app is a powerful editing suite. Auto Frame uses AI to find the best shots in your 360 footage. Shot Lab provides one-tap creative effects (Sky Swap, Nose Mode, Street Lapse). FlashCut automatically edits your clips to the beat of the music .
Honest Note
The X3 launched in September 2022. What you gain vs newer X4: significant savings (X4 retails for $500+). What you give up: the X4 offers 8K 360 video and a larger sensor . The X3 remains highly capable and is widely considered the best value 360 camera on the used market.
Battery life is approximately 81 minutes — pack a power bank for extended shoots. The camera uses microSD cards (UHS-I V30 recommended) — not included.
